Metallurgist

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist metals manufacturing business in South Yorkshire in their appointment of a Metallurgist to join their growing technical division in 2024. 

You will have the opportunity to utilise you technical expertise across a large, market leading site, working closely with the technical leadership team to enhance metallurgical processes, optimise product and process capabilities and deliver site wide improvements. 

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Metallurgist will be responsible for the following:

• Liaising with Customers and suppliers on a range of technical challenges
• Checking and signing off technical drawings
• Manage and continuously review on challenges around hot material conversion
• Be involved with a range of customer and third party audits
• Working to reduce scrap and save costs from various processes
• Produce amendments to orders where necessary
• Investigate non-conformances
• Provide technical expertise across a variety of technical and metallurgical functions

We will be keen to speak with Process Metallurgists with the following skills:

• Degree qualified in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering
• Experience working on a challenging manufacturing site (preferably metals) 
• Knowledge of metal processing routes 
• Good attention to detail, decision making and cross functional team working Skills
