GSL Education are seeking a talented Art Teacher to join a vibrant and creative secondary school in Sheffield, starting in January 2025.

Role Overview:

As an Art Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to help students explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and gain confidence in expressing themselves through art. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering the chance to make a lasting impact on students' artistic journeys.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons, encouraging students to experiment with various mediums.
  • Create a positive, inspiring classroom environment where students can freely express their ideas and creativity.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and develop their artistic techniques.
  • Organise and display students' artwork to celebrate their achievements and build confidence.
  • Assess students' progress and maintain accurate records of their development in the subject.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create an inclusive, creative curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or any equivalent degree specialism in Art Education.
  • Previous experience teaching Art in schools is preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for encouraging and developing students' creativity.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
