About the English Teacher Role

As an English Teacher for EAL, you'll provide essential support to students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) by delivering focused reading, writing, and speaking guidance in small groups and 1-1 sessions. You'll also lead full classes, teaching the English national curriculum to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. By adapting lessons to meet varied language abilities, you'll make a lasting impact on students' academic success.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in English.

  • Strong behaviour management abilities; experience in challenging school settings preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply).
  • Ability to commute to secondary schools within Sheffield.
  • Experience working with EAL students is advantageous.
