Veritas Education are currently seeking a versatile and reliable General Cover Teacher to join various secondary schools in the Sheffield area.
The Role:As a General Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Your main duties will include:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across various subjects, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Supporting students' academic progress and well-being during cover lessons.
- Adapting to different school environments and establishing rapport with students and staff quickly.
- Providing feedback to the school on the progress of lessons and any issues that arise.
- Ensuring all work set by the absent teacher is completed and submitted by students.
The Ideal Candidate:We are looking for confident and adaptable individuals who thrive in dynamic school settings. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
- Experience teaching in a secondary school environment.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to cover a range of subjects and year groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards education and student development.
- The ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff in different schools.
