GSL Education are looking for a passionate and motivated History Teacher to join a thriving educational environment in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and insightful lessons that bring History to life for students, fostering a deep understanding of historical events and their significance.

Job Summary:

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that cover a wide range of historical periods and themes of the History curriculum. You will engage students through innovative teaching methods, helping them to develop critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of historical events and their impact on the modern world.

Key Responsibilities of History Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons in History, aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through the study of historical events and figures.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their understanding of the subject.
  • Work closely with colleagues and the History department to enhance curriculum offerings and teaching strategies.
  • Foster a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and critical thinking.

Qualifications of History Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, ECT or equivalent, in History or a related field.
  • Experience teaching History in the school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching the subject.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A commitment to professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
