GSL Education are looking for a passionate History Teacher to join a vibrant school in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to engage students in historical inquiry, developing their critical thinking skills and understanding of key events that have shaped the world.

About the role:

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons that bring history to life for your students. You will encourage them to explore the past, make connections to the present, and think critically about historical events and figures.

Responsibilities of the History Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons that align with the curriculum.
  • Foster critical thinking and discussion on historical events, concepts, and themes.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.


Requirements of the History Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in History, with experience teaching at the secondary school level.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Passionate about engaging students in historical inquiry and debate.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
