The school sits on the outskirts of Sheffield, serving a specific catchment but attracting numerous students from further afield based on their educational excellence. The school are looking to appoint a Science specialist on a full-time basis from February 2025, initially for a term with the potential to be extended. The department are particularly keen to link their subject with the geographical location, given that Sheffield is a city built upon industry. Students are encouraged to be inquisitive and question the world around them in order to learn and grow in their subject knowledge. The setting focusses on the wellbeing, safety and achievement of their pupils in all areas.

What you'll need to succeedThe opening within the Science department is for a teacher across both KS3 and KS4, working on a full-time, long-term basis. The school are keen to secure a member of staff who is willing to commit to their time with the school, and would consider a longer-term assignment. The current staff within the department is identified as supportive and inclusive, welcoming new staff with a nurturing and friendly approach. The ideal candidate for this role would be:

  • A dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner
  • A Science specialist with QTS
  • In possession of a DBS or willing to apply for one
  • Committed to a long-term role with potential for extension
  • Reflective on their approach and willing to learn
