About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Sheffield. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, ensuring students develop a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and achieve their full potential. This is a part-time role starting on February 24th and continuing until summer, with the possibility of an extension.
The school believes in building strong relationship with parents to create a supportive community that empowers our students to aim high, work hard, and strive for excellence in all they do. The school was rated 'Good' in all areas by the Ofsted.
Position Details
- Location: Sheffield
- Contract: Part - time role (Monday and Wednesday)
- Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and exam specifications.

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Foster a love of mathematics through interactive and thought-provoking teaching.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress effectively.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
- Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to enhance learning.
- Prepare students for GCSE exams with well-structured revision sessions.
- Work closely with the Maths department to share best practices.
- Keep up-to-date with educational research and innovative teaching methods.
- Support students' confidence in tackling mathematical challenges.
- Uphold and promote the school's values and ethos at all times.
