Primary Level 3 Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is looking for a Primary Level 3 Teaching Assistant to cover various subjects in primary schools in Sheffield.

Job Summary:

  • Provide support to the classroom teacher by helping with lesson preparation, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
  • Implement individual learning plans and provide feedback to the teacher on student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
  • Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
  • Manage student behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
  • Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
  • Empathize with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
