Ranson Barnes are excited to be seeking a permanent Stores and Dispatch Manager to join our returning client in the Engineering Industry. This is a newly created role due to continued success and future proofing the business.

This role involves managing the stores and dispatch operations, with responsibility for a team of six, including store staff, transport drivers, and material handlers. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, ideally in a technical or engineering setting, with strong knowledge of engineering-related components. Leadership skills, organisational abilities, and excellent communication are essential, alongside a willingness to adapt and improve processes for greater efficiency.

We are looking for someone proactive, flexible, and team-oriented who thrives on driving positive change and fostering a productive workplace environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing stock handling, including receiving, storage, and dispatch processes.
  • Inspecting incoming goods, reporting any issues with quality or quantity.
  • Preparing shipping documentation and ensuring stock systems are kept up to date.
  • Managing internal and external transport arrangements, including subcontracted logistics where needed.
  • Collaborating with internal teams such as production and sales to meet operational needs.
  • Enforcing health and safety standards and ensuring team members receive necessary training.
  • Conducting staff reviews, handling performance issues, and overseeing return-to-work processes.
