Full Time – Immediate Start

Vision for Education are looking for a versatile and passionate Behaviour Support Assistant, who can motivate, support and inspire our students in the classroom. This role is based at a specialist school in the S9 area that caters for students from the ages of 16-18 years (post-16). They provide specialist education for young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Communication and Interaction difficulties and are looking for a new team member to integrate smoothly into their hard-working team of staff.

The role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you’ll contribute to the delivery of appropriate non-teaching support in classroom situations and other settings, working with students with additional support needs on a 1:1 or group basis in accordance with the overall learner support plans.

We’re looking for Behaviour Support Assistants who have a range of direct experience of working with young people with behavioural difficulties who are presently attending alternative provision. You will also need a proven ability to motivate students and promote learning.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of Behaviour Support Assistant you will:

  • Be reliable, flexible and creative!
  • Have experience supporting children and young adults with learning and behavioural difficulties
  • Have a resilient yet empathetic approach
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team, have a nurturing and caring nature and a genuine desire to make a difference
  • Team teach training is highly desirable – we run regular courses for this training that are free of charge

All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
