Empowering Learning are a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large Secondary Academy in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support worker from September 2024.

The role of the pastoral support worker is key to ensuring the wellbeing of students, supporting with behaviour regulation and reintegration in to learning. You will be a safe haven for students to speak to about worries or issues they may be having inside of school or outside of the school setting. You will be collaborating with Senior Leaders, outside agencies and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

This is a full-time vacancy, seeking an outstanding candidate to join the school on their journey of growth. The successful candidate can expect to work in a challenging and thriving environment. The school leadership help and support all members of staff to help them achieve their full potential.

The job

  • You will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of students across KS3.
  • You will report in to Head of Years and Senior Leadership to work out the best support plans for students.
  • Liaising with parents, carers and outside agencies where applicable.
  • Responsible for safeguarding and child protection.

The successful candidate will

  • Have experience working within a UK Secondary school either in pastoral support or as a learning support assistant.
  • Be Health and Safety conscious with an eye for detail.
  • Be organised and able to work well alone and as part of a team
  • Contribution to impact on the quality of the provision of behaviour regulation for learning within the school.
