Location: Sheffield S1 / Hybrid
Job Type: Part-time (Monday & Tuesday), Hybrid (starting in January)

We are currently looking for a part-time Housing Solutions Officer to join our Private Rented Solutions Team at Sheffield City Council. This role is integral to assisting individuals in securing quality private sector housing, establishing long-term tenancies, and preventing homelessness. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing support and guidance to clients throughout the housing process, ensuring a smooth transition into their new homes.

Day-to-day of the role:

Provide support for clients bidding on vacant properties.
Assist with setting up bills and contracts for participants who secure a new home.
Work towards preventing homelessness and hospital admissions by offering a range of support options.
Collect and interpret information from various sources to aid in application processes.
Guide clients through the Council’s Lettings Policy and assist with the bidding process.
Liaise with statutory and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate services for clients.
Respond to telephone, mail, and electronic enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven customer service skills.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Understanding of, or experience working with, people facing homelessness.
Ability to pass a DBS check.
