Application Support Analyst - Sheffield - 34-39K

The Application Support Analyst within the IT Systems Team plays a crucial role in implementing, supporting, and maintaining a wide range of applications and systems across the organisation. This role involves managing incidents and issues related to third-party applications such as Finance, Human Resources, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. The analyst will also support in-house developed applications and assist with the adoption of new tools and systems as the business evolves.

In addition, the role is pivotal in ensuring the security, compliance, and confidentiality of the IT systems, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations (Data Protection Act).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support: Provide ongoing support for primary Business Information Systems, in-house applications, and services to ensure they meet the needs of the Company.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve incidents in line with the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established with customers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • System Analysis t: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse user requirements, introduce new functionality, and develop enhancements to administrative, information, and business systems to align with the evolving needs of the company.
  • Operational Procedures: Support the implementation and maintenance of operational procedures for business systems. Ensure these systems are efficiently operated, fully documented, and regularly reviewed to meet performance standards.
  • System Ownership: Take on specific responsibility for one or more key systems, including playing a lead role in the administration and management of MS SQL databases.
  • Project Planning and Management: Lead or participate in the planning and management of projects related to the introduction, ensuring they are delivered on time.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve incidents and improve system functionality.
  • Application Support experience, or equivalent
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail: A focus on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of systems and data.
  • Security and Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of best practices in IT security and data protection regulations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, and be committed to continuous improvement of the College's IT systems.
