We urgently require a dedicated SEN Educational Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting access to learning for pupils with special educational needs and providing comprehensive support to teachers in managing pupils and the classroom.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Attend to the pupilsā€™ personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
  • Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning.
  • Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Prepare the classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards, and assist with the display of pupils' work.
  • Support the teacher in managing pupil behaviour and reporting difficulties as appropriate.
  • Provide clerical/administrative support such as photocopying, typing, filing, and collecting money as needed.
  • Support pupils in using basic ICT and maintain equipment/resources as directed by the teacher.

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Participation in development and training opportunities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents.
  • DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE
