GSL Education is currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SEN TA (Autism and Speech and language) to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Sheffield.

Job Summary: As a SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Autism and Speech and language, you will support students with special needs to achieve their full potential in an inclusive educational environment. Your role will involve working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a positive and supportive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with autism and speech and language difficulties.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
  • Supporting students in their social and emotional development.
  • Helping to create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support.
  • Encouraging and promoting independence and self-confidence in our students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience working with children with autism and/or speech and language difficulties (preferred but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in the classroom.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
