GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant client schools community in Sheffield. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Participate in school activities and events to promote student engagement.
Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
