Day-to-day of the role:
  • As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to deliver educational and support programmes tailored to individual student needs.
  • Engage with pupils through one-on-one sessions and group activities, fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure the specific needs of pupils are met.
  • Monitor and support the social and emotional development of pupils, acting as a positive role model.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role with transferable skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and the desire to go above and beyond to support their education and wellbeing.
  • Must possess a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Confidence in handling the unique challenges that come with working in a special needs environment.
