GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher with significant experience in Autism to join a client school in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

SEN Teacher (Autism specialist) Job Summary:
  • Provide specialised teaching to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to cater to the specific needs of each student.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher (Autism specialist):

  • Deliver differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with Autism.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and facilitate learning.
  • Work closely with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to support the educational and personal development of students.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant qualifications, including experience in teaching students with Autism.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the needs of students with ASD.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proactive, patient, and adaptable.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses. In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
