Speech & Language Therapist
- Hourly Rate: £45 per hour (We can offer PAYE or Umbrella Company)
- Location: Sheffield
- Job Type: Part-Time 2 days a week
We are seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role involves working to provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for students with various needs in specialist educational and work experience settings. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop professional skills in a supportive environment, catering to a diverse student population.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a caseload of post-16 students with ASD, learning disabilities, and speech and language difficulties, conducting assessments, annual reviews, and writing individual programmes.
- Implement group sessions, provide advice, resources, and review outcomes with a curriculum and functional-based focus.
- Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by drawing on evidence-based practices and outcome measures.
- Assist in providing training to other staff and participate in multi-disciplinary training as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, tutors, families, and carers to achieve outcomes for individual students.
- Participate in the development of a curriculum that integrates Speech & Language Therapy intervention into engaging sessions for students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have a valid HCPC Pin.
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK
- Must have a Full Clear DBS
- Must be able to provide 5 years of Reference
- Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary and uni-disciplinary teams, contributing to well-coordinated care plans.
- Empathy and effective communication skills, particularly in situations where barriers to understanding exist.
- Skills in motivating, negotiating, and managing conflict across a range of situations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
