The role: Sheet Metal Worker   Are you a Sheet Metal Worker that has worked in high precision manufacturing and looking for a new challenge? A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a prestige aerospace business based in Sheffield. The role is to work two shifts (mornings 6am-2pm and afternoons 2pm-10pm)
PAY:
£15.46ph for days £17.39ph Afternoons

Key Responsibilities: •Perform assembly operations by use of hand riveting and planishing.
- Perform drilling operations.
- Perform manual press operations.
- Abrade and final finish assemblies.
- Use hand and air powered tools.
- Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards).
- Interpret drawings.
- Work meticulously to work instructions and procedures.
- Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance requirements.
- Provide feedback on production issues as and when they arise.
- Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
- Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.
Skills & Experience: •NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline is desirable.
- Environmental awareness, Manual handling, Abrasive wheel training, calibration control, LOTO (Lock out / Tag Out) Risk Assessments, SOP Development, RCA, Basic CI (Continuous Improvement) principles.
Experience:
- Sheet Metal Work experience – Essential.
- Manual Press work experience – Essential.
- Reading and following written instruction e.g., SOPs, Technique sheets, drawings, and specifications – Essential.
- Experience of working to production targets – Essential.
- Experience in the Aerospace or similar industry – Preferable.
- Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) – Essential.
- Quality conscious and be able to work accurately in a busy environment – Essential.
