An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Purchasing & Inventory Manager in the Industrial / Manufacturing sector, with a focus on Procurement & Supply Chain, based in Sheffield.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established, medium-sized organisation in the Industrial / Manufacturing industry. They are known for their commitment to quality and their strong reputation within the industry.

Description

* Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate short-term and long-term demand forecasts using historical data, sales trends, and market insights.

* Working with the sales and operations teams to convert the sales forecast into a purchasing plan

* Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to incorporate promotional plans and product launches into forecasts.

* Liaising and co-ordinating with Group

* OOS recovery plan - communication and co-ordination with Sales

* Working and collaborating with Finance to follow purchase approval processes and achieve working capital targets

* Identify and address potential stockouts or excess inventory situations.

* Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse sales trends, seasonality patterns, and customer behaviour to improve forecasting accuracy.

* Communicate with senior leadership to provide insights on demand trends and supply chain risks.

* Implement demand planning best practices and contribute to the development of planning systems.

* Volume forecasting and demand planning for NPD and seasonal peaks?

* To monitor and make effective decisions on the clearance of non-moving and de-listed stock

* Communicate the purchasing plan to suppliers to agree on lead times

* Sourcing new suppliers, carry our due diligence and price research and ensuring products meet the company quality standards.

* To review supplier service level reporting and investigate areas of concern and resolve by initiating supplier meetings to discuss poor levels of service and agreeing action plans to improve service levels.

Profile

A successful Purchasing & Inventory Manager should have:

  • 3 to 5 years in operations, demand planning, forecasting, or business analytics in consumer products required
  • Knowledge and understanding of S&OP, purchasing, forecasting and inventory management
  • Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ideally experience of Pegasus Opera but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of importing goods but not essential
