GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join a dynamic school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to provide crucial support and guidance to students, helping them manage their behaviour and succeed in their learning environment.

As a Behaviour Support staff member, you will play a key role in helping students navigate challenges, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support role include:

  • Supporting students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Assisting teachers in creating a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to guide students through challenging situations.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress.
  • Promoting positive relationships between students and staff.
  • Assisting with any behavioural issues that may arise during the school day.

Requirements for the Behaviour Support role:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
