We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing issues and executing repairs efficiently. This role is essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working in the workshop.
- Keep the workshop clean and organised, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is required ( 2 years minimum)
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and tools is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or mechanics are advantageous. ( NVQ Level 3 Prefered )
- HGV Class I or II licence and Driver CPC (preferred)
- Maintenance of our fleet of DAF Skip Trucks, roll on roll off, Grab vehicles, Tippers, Artic units, Walking floors and company vans.
