Senior Sales Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-known and respected Sheffield Engineering business to recruit a Senior Sales Engineer. This is a key role with excellent career progression opportunities.

This role is responsible for taking opportunities and enquiries through the sales process with a strong bias on the technical understanding of customer needs and the products and services offered.

We are looking for excellent sales relationship skills at a high level along with an Engineering qualification.

Senior Sales Engineer Role:

  • Identify new opportunities supporting the Sales Director with existing customers and target businesses.
  • Work closely with Product Engineers, Contracts, and Supply Chain to follow the enquiry qualification process.
  • Acquire customers by providing products and services that meet their quality, price, and delivery needs, offering commercial solutions with technical support.
  • Conduct technical and commercial negotiations with customers.
  • Handle engineering enquiries and prepare quotations.
  • Arrange face-to-face visits with current and potential customers both in the UK and oversea, and attend trade shows and exhibitions where required.

Skills required:

  • Engineering background with a strong commercial bias
  • NVQ level 3/ONC/HNC/HND in Engineering Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and computer competency
  • High level understanding of technical specifications and tender documentation
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with proven strong negotiation skills
