Sonic Summary

A Class 2 Building Control Inspector is urgently needed to assist with a high workload in the local authority.
The role requires membership in either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
Candidates should have experience handling Building Control projects from conception to completion, including negotiating complex technical solutions.
The position involves acting as an expert witness for the Council regarding building regulation enforcement and commissioning specialists for complex projects.
The salary for this role is competitive, and a minimum of several years of relevant experience is required.

Your Role

Requires Membership of Royal InsAtuAon of Chartered Surveyors or Chartered AssociaAon of Building Engineers*
Responsible for the Council's Statutory and non-statutory funcAons as a Local Building Control Authority including the creaAon of policies, guidance and the processing and support of building regulaAon applicaAons
To take responsibility for Building Control projects from concepAon to compleAon, (negoAaAng complex technical soluAons)*
To act for the Council as an expert witness in respect of enforcement of the building regulaAons
To commission the use of structural and fire safety specialists on complex projects* To support less senior officers and administrators*
