Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Orion is currently working with an innovative manufacturing company based in Shefford We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their friendly team and work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.   

The successful candidate will be predominately involved in the mechanical design of components for water management systems.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Working with a multi-faceted team
• Design and detailing of water management systems
• Creation of engineering proposals
• 2D & 3D designs using Solidworks & AutoCAD
• Project management of contracts from cradle to grave
• Reading and working from mechanical drawings
• Customer liaison
• BOM
• Design modifications
• Design from customer specification
• Working with sales/purchasing team with generation of tendering documents
• Layout design
• General mechanical design – sensor bracketry/equipment mounting etc..

Mechanical Design Engineer Required Experience:

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical design software like CATIA AutoCAD, Solidworks, CREO etc..
• 3D CAD – AutoCAD Inventor and Volt
• 2D Designs
• Testing
• Design degree/background – HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have worked with sheet metal, concrete, plastics, fabrication welding etc..
• Experience with pumps, pressure vessels, hydraulics, pneumatics
• Familiarity with automated production machinery
• Experience in a multi-faceted manufacturing environment
• Systematic approach to their work with attention to detail
• Team player/Strong mentor
• Desire to improve and develop their skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently across departments and the shop floor.

Mechanical Design Engineer Package:

• Competitive Salary of £35,000 - £38,000 DOE
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Mechanical Design Engineer Shifts:

Monday – Thursday: 09:00 – 17:00

Friday – 09:00 – 16:30
