Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Shefford
Salary: £65,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance +
Shifts: Monday to Friday Days (37.5 Hour Week)

The Business:
Our client are a well established global manufacturing business with operations in 40 countries and over 4000 members of staff worldwide. The product they manufacture is unique to them as no other business in the UK can produce what they can. As a result, the company is extremely secure and holds long standing contracts with private companies as well as government and local councils. The order book is continuing to grow and the company is now at a point where they can really kick on and become a world class manufacturing facility in the future.
The Budgets for the forthcoming year have already been set and they are very healthy, there is a great deal of support within this role and there will be money available for you take under CAPEX and projects to improve the site further.
The Role:
The role of Engineering Manager will include:
- Reporting directly into the Operations Manager of the business, being involved in daily meetings and creating reports based around Maintenance Activity
- Looking after two sites with the vast majority of the time being spent in Shefford
- Responsible for all Engineering activity, from Maintenance to the Moulding Engineers and Production Engineers too
- Creating projects that will increase OEE, reduce wastage and bringing these to the Operations Manager
- Have a team of 4 Engineers and a Team Leader Reporting into you
- Future Planning of the site – looking after long term plans for Engineering, looking at the bigger picture rather than the day to day maintenance
- Utilising the CMMS system in place and improving this
- Developing the Engineering team with Training and Development plans
- Budget control for all Engineering activities
The Candidate;
The right Candidate for the role of Engineering Manager will be/have:
- A recognised Engineering Qualification
- Experience working as an Engineering Manager in a Manufacturing Facility
- Experience in developing and increasing performance in teams
- Experience with a CMMS system and implementing KPIs
- Experience with looking at the bigger picture to ensure the long term success of the site
