An opportunity has arisen for a reliable, flexible individual to provide in-house technical direction and assistance to automotive manufacturers regarding the use of customer product lines and application methods in the Midlands.

The successful candidate will support one manufacturer across one or more locations working 5 days a week with some need for support at weekends and evenings.

The role is currently hybrid, with one to two days on-site. However, this schedule may vary depending on on-site requirements and holiday cover. Additionally, travel to other sites will be required as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical / Colour direction and assistance to the manufacturer regarding use of product lines
  • Respond to complex questions and concerns from manufacturers regarding products and process issues
  • Represent the customer as an expert in paint / colour technology
  • Analyse product data to provide the manufacturer with quality improvements
  • Work closely with the customers technical and manufacturing teams to support product quality
  • Prepare accurate and timely technical reports
  • Run and support new product trials
  • Maintain material stock and placing orders ensuring the customer site has adequate stock to run production

Strong experience in:

  • Coating products and application
  • Matching/shading colour and effect differences
  • Multiple application methods and equipment types
  • Lean manufacturing processes

Essential skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels of the organisations
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Time management and self-organisation

Flexibility is a give and shifts maybe required, dependent on cover, but within an elongated day.
