HRGO Recruitment are seeking a professional and experienced Projects Officer to join a local government on a temporary basis to assist with an exciting project, mainly relating to green spaces, environment and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a strategic plan and bringing to life the council's aspirations.

You will be working closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer, councillors and various members.

General Duties:

  • Work with councillors and members of staff to deliver the objectives of the town Council, through engagement, collaboration and development.
  • Manage the project delivery cycle, to accurately determine objectives and priorities
  • To undertake research and consultations to establish local needs and desires, as well as collecting evidence to support applications for funding
  • To identify and manage risks and issues in relation to the delivery of projects
  • To network with community groups and stakeholders to ensure their voices are heard
  • To commission expertise as necessary, to support the delivery of identified projects
  • To actively support the council's policies in relation to dignity at work, equal
  • Opportunities, disability discrimination and the health and safety at work act 1974

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Projects Officer or similar
  • Previous experience working within a local government
  • Must be able to follow guidelines and a strategic plan
  • Work well within a team and independently
  • Strong communication skills
