Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with Adapt Biogas a UK leader in anaerobic digestion, to recruit an Asset Manager for its Shepton Mallet site. The newest addition to the portfolio, the site was commissioned in 2022 and has capacity to supply 8000 homes.

The strategically important Asset Manager role comes with a salary of 50,000-60,000 per year, a company pension, and free on-site parking.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) performance, setting targets, monitoring outcomes, and implementing improvement plans as required.
  • Manage the operational and financial performance of the facility, including setting budgets, tracking performance, and taking corrective actions to achieve targets.
  • Drive the optimisation of the asset by recommending and implementing capital and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and manage risks at the asset level, including appointing and monitoring external consultants and contractors where necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with co-investors, contractual counterparties, supply chain partners, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular internal performance reports and contribute to quarterly progress updates.
  • Represent investors' interests at board meetings of selected investee companies.
  • Develop KPI packs for facility performance management and share best practices across the portfolio.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Operational background within Anaerobic Digestion
  • A degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional certifications in asset management (e.g., IAM Certificate or Diploma) or project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites.

  • A collaborative leader who can work with multidisciplinary teams across departments.
  • Experienced in negotiating contracts and fostering productive supplier relationships
