HRGO are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Assistant to support with the upkeep and preservation of Shepton Mallet Town. The successful candidate must have practical knowledge and experience in ground maintenance.

The role involves being hands on and would suit a fast and forward thinker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on the preservation and upkeep of green spaces around Shepton Mallet
  • Set up and close the weekly market and, assist with pitch locations for stall holders
  • Keeping street furniture clean and tidy
  • Reporting issues where appropriate and arranging for their remedy
  • Work with a team of groundsman to ensure workload is met and delivered on time
  • Empty overflowing bins
  • Clean and stock toilets

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in ground maintenance
  • Completed Chapter 8 training
  • Hold a certificate in operational play inspections
  • Excellent people and practical skills
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking abilities
  • Candidate must be happy to work outdoors

To note:

  • PPE and uniform provided
  • All tools and equipment provided
  • Driving licence would be preferred but not essential
