About the Role
We are looking for a skilled 1st or 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our client. If you have strong experience in 1st line support or some exposure to 2nd line, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career further. You'll help manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring that systems run smoothly and that users receive high-quality support.
This role will see you managing hardware, software, networking and security systems, while also contributing to internal software development and business continuity planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff, addressing hardware, software, and network issues* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows Servers, networking, firewalls, and virtual environments* Assist with maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery planning* Support internal ERP and warehouse management systems* Help develop and maintain internal software solutions* Ensure that all IT documentation is up-to-date and complies with ISO9001 procedures
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience providing 1st line support, with exposure to 2nd line IT support tasks* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Business 365* Familiarity with SQL Server management* Basic understanding of virtualisation technologies (VMWare or Hyper-V)* Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls* Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam)* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure* Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a customer-facing role
