Legal Accounts Assistant - Hybrid / Shepton Mallet or Bristol

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a forward-thinking law firm that combines modern technology with traditional customer service.

Location: Shepton Mallet or Bristol

Job type: Hybrid

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Reporting to: Accounts Manager

Salary: £ 23,000 upwards, depending on experience

Job role

Our client prides themselves on providing a seamless accounts service to their lawyers and therefore you will play a highly visible role having regular contact with the Directors and Heads of Department taking responsibility for financial operations whilst also working closely with Accounts Manager and supported by an Apprentice Accounts Assistant.

Duties & Responsibilities

      Day to day processing and auto reconciliation of the Client and Office accounts inline with SAR and VAT regulations

Ensuring all work is dealt with efficiently to include; Client Receipts and Payments, Office Receipts and Payments, Billing, Supplier and Nominal Ledgers, checking Completion Packs and end of day balancing and reporting

Running account reports as required

Administration of online banking system

Ensure any work issues or problems are dealt with immediately and reported to Accounts Manager

Answering telephone calls efficiently

Assisting the firm with adhering to Solicitors Accounts Rules

Ensuring compliance with the firms policies and procedures

What you will need

      3 years previous experience

AAT or similar qualification preferred

Experience dealing with daily accounting

Experience dealing with WIP, billing and credit control

Experience with cashflows, trial balances, management accounts and report analysis preferred

Knowledge of legal terminology

Knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules

Experience working with accounting and case management software
