Level 3 Qualified Mechanic - Join Our Growing Team
We are seeking a Level 3 Qualified Mechanic to join a dynamic workshop team located just outside Shepton Mallet, near Bristol. Due to continued success, growth, and fleet expansion, we are looking for a skilled mechanic to contribute to maintaining our own fleet and some third-party vehicles.
As part of the team, you'll work directly under the Workshop Manager in a modern, fully-equipped workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair work on a variety of vehicles, including:
- 6-weekly vehicle inspections/Trailer Inspections
- General servicing and planned maintenance
- Reactive maintenance as needed
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Correcting running defects
- Full vehicle overhauls, including engine and gearbox repairs
- Tyre work and fault diagnostics
- Attend to local breakdowns with a fully equipped workshop van
- Ensure all work meets DVSA standards
Key Competencies:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
- LGV C + E licence is desirable
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to relay accurate information to colleagues

Additional Details:
- Full-time position: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week) with every other Saturday
- Own transport is essential due to the location
- Starting salary: From 40,500 per year
