The Job Role

Somerset Education Alliance are looking for an English Teacher based in or around the Shepton Mallet area who is driven and dedicated to educating and guiding the young minds of our future. You will be able to adapt to different environments, engage students with invigorating ideas and radiate positivity throughout the placement.

This role is a part time opportunity to start in January 2025 for a secondary school in Shepton Mallet. This is a part time, temporary position for 3 days a week.

English Teacher Responsibilities

- Delivering cover lessons

- Preparing planning if required

- Following safeguarding and school policies

- Marking work as needed

- Liaising with school staff

English Teacher Essentials

- QTS or ECT status (applications from other teaching backgrounds also welcome)

- A current DBS, or Update Service subscription (the agency can apply for this)

- A 3 year minimum reference history

- Up to date knowledge of the curriculum

- Reliability

- Excellent communication skills
