The School and Role

A Pupil Referral Unit based in Sherborne are currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to start in September or as soon as possible. The school caters for secondary age pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education. The school also caters for students with SEMH and medical some medical needs.

The Behaviour Mentor role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support young people to access education. You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, and also with their social and emotional development. You will work closely with teachers and parents and you will be responsible for implementing strategies and interventions to support students and create a positive attitude to learning. 

Requirements 

The desired Behaviour Lead will have;

- Experience of working with primary and/or secondary school aged children

- Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH and challenging behaviour.

- A passion for the progress of pupils

- An ability to work as part of a team
