REED are recruiting on behalf of a leading client based near Yeovil, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the tax compliance and advisory services for their clients. This role requires a deep understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients to optimize their tax positions.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, staying up-to-date with changes and developments.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to support client needs and internal projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax matters.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial services to clients.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures.
  • Represent clients in tax audits and disputes, liaising with tax authorities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Studying towards ATT or CTA 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management within an accountancy practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
