Payroll Officer, £13.50 per hour, 6 Month Contract, Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week, Office based in Sherborne.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a reputable School in Sherborne for 6 months. As a key member of the Payroll team, you will play a crucial role in the transition to a new system.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all school staff, including:

  • Calculating Tax and National Insurance
  • Calculating pay increases, overtime, and bonuses
  • Handling SMP, SSP, and other statutory payments
  • Reporting to HMRC and addressing any queries
  • Performing Auto-enrolment, pension assessments, and uploading data to the pension provider. Knowledge of Salary Exchange schemes is desirable.

To succeed in this role, you will bring your experience in providing efficient and accurate payroll services to multiple businesses. You will also possess:

  • Proficiency in payroll software, such as Iris, Sage, QuickBooks, or ADP
  • Understanding of pension schemes and auto-enrolment obligations
  • Ability to handle complex calculations and large volumes of data
  • Familiarity with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) regulations and reporting requirements
  • Keen attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
