Tax Assistant - Tax Advisory Role near the Sherborne area.
We are offering a great opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in tax within a supportive team. This role provides exposure to a variety of tax compliance tasks, with a focus on personal tax.
Role Overview:
As a Tax Assistant, you will assist the senior team in managing a range of tax compliance tasks and supporting tax planning activities. The role provides exposure to various technical areas of tax and offers opportunities for growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing personal tax records and ensuring timely submission of tax returns
- Supporting tax planning and compliance work
- Assisting with the implementation of tax regulations
- Preparing information for property and VAT tax returns
- Providing research support for the wider team on tax-related matters
- Participating in ad-hoc projects as required
- Supporting the preparation of corporation tax returns
- Gaining experience with trust and inheritance tax work
Ideal Candidate for th Tax Assistant :
We are looking for someone who is keen to build a career in tax and who can bring:
- At least 18 months of relevant experience, with a strong preference for experience within an accountancy practice, particularly in tax or related roles.
- Currently studying or working towards the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification
- A strong interest in tax and a desire to develop professionally
- A willingness to study for or progress with a relevant tax qualification
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information

- Competitive salary between 26 - 32K per annum and reviewed annually
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:15.
