This small school is situated in Bristol - BS5 area - and supports pupils aged 5-11 years old, who have a range of special educational needs and offers a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working in classes of 4-6 pupils with a staff to student ratio of 1:1. The school has recently been graded 'good' in key categories such as leadership, management and behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring youth worker or counsellor, you will gain invaluable experience and skills working hands-on with young people with SEN and SEMH.

What we need from you

  • A recent graduate with 2:2 or above, or Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent plus prior experience with SEN children- for example tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, assisting in a nursery, or similar experience within a classroom.
  • Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making a different in the lives of children with special educational needs
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
