We are seeking a compassionate Home Care Worker to join a dedicated team in Shetland with free accommodation available. The ideal candidates will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their homes, assisting them in maintaining their independence and improving their quality of life. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assisting clients with mobility and physical activities, including transfers and positioning.
  • Supporting clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and housekeeping.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and their families, promoting a supportive and respectful environment.
  • Monitoring and documenting clients’ health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in home care practices.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in home care, personal support, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
