About Us:
We are a leading manufacturer of gearboxes for large commercial vehicles, known for delivering high-quality, durable products. We are currently seeking an experienced General Machinist to join our dynamic team in a manual machine shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain manual machining tools including surface grinders, radial drillers, and lathes.
- Perform turning and welding tasks as required.
- Ensure precision and accuracy in machining and surface grinding processes.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient and productive work environment.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a manual machine shop.
- Proven experience in welding, surface grinding, turning, and working with radial drillers.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good understanding of safety practices and procedures in a machine shop environment.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £26,000 - £29,000, dependent on experience.
- Early finish on Fridays.
