The school provides a tailored approach to education, with smaller class sizes and a differentiated curriculum, enabling their pupils to thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning difficulties, helping them develop confidence, independence, and key life skills.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies that meet the unique needs of each pupil.
- Assist in delivering a differentiated curriculum, adapting activities to ensure accessibility for all learners.
- Support pupils in regulating their emotions and developing positive behaviours through a patient and proactive approach.
- Foster social development, encouraging pupils to build friendships and engage positively with others.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be open-minded, resilient, and proactive in addressing challenges.
- Have experience working with young people with SEMH needs or additional learning needs, either in an educational, youth work, or care setting (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Show empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Be adaptable and able to think on their feet in a dynamic environment.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices (training will be provided).
