Working Hours: 37.5 Per Week Monday - Friday

Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days (25 plus statutory bank holidays)

About The Company:

They are a well-recognised and growing UK organisation specialising in the Manufacture, Installation, Service & Maintenance of Purified Water and GMP Systems predominantly for the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Health & Beauty industries throughout the UK and Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PLC / Automation Engineer to join the company, supporting multiple projects within their manufacturing facility based in Shildon, Co Durham as well as UK client sites.

About The Role:

As a suitably qualified and experienced PLC / Automation engineer you will be responsible for the management and testing of existing and new PLC automation programs. Part of the design team, you will work create all associated documentation and test strategies, to create a structured and robust code with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

PLC coding for Siemens S7-1200/15000 PLCs

Develop and management of GAMP documentation: URS, DQ (FDS, SDS, C&E), FAT, SAT, IOQ

Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure each project is delivered on-time, on-budget and to specification.

Support the maintenance of legacy PLC code

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will come from a Process Engineering background, is meticulous in nature with attention to detail and a logical approach with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

You are a confident communicator both verbally and written, with detailed knowledge of PLC automation software, coding languages, testing platforms and project management, to ensure our coding is robust, well documented, on-time and reliable. Electrical and mechanical engineering experience is preferred.

Specialist application and company product training will be provided for the right person. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in PLC coding and testing, with supporting relevant qualifications / certification and be willing to demonstrate competence. Experience in other coding languages including C/C++ would be considered an advantage but not necessary at this stage.

Previous experience in GMP validation documentation would also be an advantage although full training and assistance would be provided.

This is a new role within our business with significant growth opportunities for the right candidate as the business plans to expand its product offering in the coming 5 years.

The role is predominately based at our manufacturing site in Shildon (DL4) with occasional working away at our client base in the UK. Hybrid working may be considered.
