Electronics Engineer / Hardware Engineer

12 month contract, Immediate start available

Fantastic opportunity for a motivated Electronic Engineer to undertake a varied role working with a team of bright, highly motivated multi-disciplined engineers.

It’s an exciting period of growth and investment within the business and as a result of key projects they need a talented Electronics Engineer to enable them to realise and deliver these development projects.

As Electronic Engineer you will have responsibility for maintaining and improving existing designs and testing and calibration processes of existing PCBAs and other electronic sub-assemblies. The role entails working with external PCBA contract manufacturer/s performing functional and quality assurance tests.

You will have a practical mind-set supporting all aspects from building initial prototypes through to ongoing testing and refining the designs as you go.

Key accountabilities for electronic engineer will include:

  • Provision of electronic technical support to both in house production staff as well as contract manufacturing partners
  • DFM / DFT - Design for manufacturing and testing of existing designs
  • Maintaining Electrical and Functional test specifications for designs
  • Concessions management
  • Obsolescence management
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives as necessary

To succeed in this interesting role, you will have proven electronic design experience gained within industry (or have experience across the following areas):

  • Both Digital and analogue design exposure (Mixed signals)
  • Degree qualified or with commensurate experience in an electronic engineering / electronics discipline.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and modify legacy designs
  • Design skills in schematic capturing, PCB layout and wiring diagram
  • A good understanding of working in partnership with manufacturing alongside development
  • Awareness or experience of digital control using microcontrollers, programmable devices, FPGAs

 

This role will be inside IR35, with both PAYE and Umbrella PAYE options available.
