We are seeking a dedicated OfstedĀ Registered ManagerĀ to oversee the management of aĀ new two bedĀ (EBD) Childrenā€™s Homes in Shipley, West Yorkshire. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a leader with a passion for providing outstanding care to children and young people aged 8-15 years. The successful candidate will manage a teamĀ ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive relationships and encourage strong bonds between children and staff.
  • Collaborate with professionals, families, and communities to support the childrenā€™s needs.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development processes for the staff team.
  • Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their views and feelings are considered.
  • Promote childrenā€™s ambitions and learning, both in and out of school.
  • Develop and maintain effective working and information sharing protocols.
  • Stay informed on developments related to children who are looked after and share knowledge with staff.
  • Create a stable and secure base for young people to address past experiences and present challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to medication handling and administration requirements.
  • Conduct and manage risk assessments and plans.
  • Handle complex and challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Oversee the matching and admissions process to the home.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual care plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level education plus NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or close to completion).
  • Social work qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Childrenā€™s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
  • Recent experience in residential care of children and staff management.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Flexibility to meet rota requirements, including potential sleep-in duties.
