Sea Freight Forwarder

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Ocean Export Forwarder to join a dynamic logistics team in Bradford. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the export process for ocean freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This position requires strong organisational skills, an understanding of logistics operations, and the ability to negotiate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete export process for ocean shipments from start to finish.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and communicate updates to clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping process.
• Some cross-trades, airfrieight etc

Experience

• Proven experience in logistics or freight forwarding, specifically in ocean exports.
• Experience of MultiFrieght would be advantageous although CargoWise is also acceptable
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers and carriers.
• Proficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service.
