About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and welcoming school in Shipley as a full-time Food Technology Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons to Key Stage 3 students, with a focus on both theoretical and practical elements of Food Technology. The role also includes four lessons of Art cover per week, so experience in teaching Art is desirable.

Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Experience (or willingness to teach) Art lessons.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with exam board specifications for Food Technology.
- Ability to create engaging and inspiring displays of student's work.
- Passion for engaging students in practical, hands-on learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 students.
- Teach Art lessons supporting students in creative projects.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons using pre-planned schemes of learning (SOL).
- Mark and assess student's work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Support students in developing essential cooking, nutrition, and food hygiene skills.
- Support students in understanding food science, healthy eating, and sustainability.
- Engage students in practical cooking and food preparation activities.
- Develop student's understanding of food sourcing, food production, and ethical issues.
- Provide individualised support to students who need additional guidance.
- Establish strong working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
