An experienced Site Manager is sought for a secondary school in east Birmingham – part of a West Midlands based multi-academy trust.

This is a key position overseeing all site management, leading a team of three Site Assistants and four cleaning staff. Reporting to the Head Teacher and the Head of Operations, the Site Manager duties include:

  • Overseeing all site management.
  • Liaising with all relevant stakeholders to co-ordinate maintenance and capital works within the school in line with agreed plans.
  • Organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory.
  • Providing line management and training of the cleaning team deployed at the schools.
  • Ensuring all the appearance of the school is well kept and safe for all staff and students.
  • Supervising facilities letting and community use to ensure protection of school property.
  • Conducting risk assessments and COSHH procedures.

The successful Site Manager will hold or is working towards a suitable relevant qualification, with experience of site management ideally within a school environment. You will have managed capital projects/contractors, managing staff, and exceptional knowledge of Health and Safety requirements including Fire Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, Asbestos Management and Legionella.

Practical skills in light DIY work will be essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and can establish effective working relationships naturally and the ability to 'think on your feet'.
